Hello!

I am starting a new life going bloging. I hope you will find me here and give me ideas and comments on politics or anything. I am a liberal politician trying to find new ways for communication between politicians and people. At the moment we are running trough the last days of campaigning in the european parliamentary elections, hoping for people to vote. In last elections only 31% of all Finns voted!
Have you got any ideas to make Europe more interesting?

How do europeans become more interesting??? Might be a better question.

Europe in and of itself is interesting. Fabulous places to see, interesting art, historic, in general a great place to visit.

Congratulations on making the jump into the blogging world. With the direct help of Joi, no less. Now, if you could convice some of your fellow Spanish politicians, that'll be really nice.

On your direct question, how about blogging about what goes on at the EU Parliament? (assuming you get elected, of course). Talk here about the things that matter and the things that do not. Hear what people have to say about the issues at hand. Start conversations, but do not expect to control them.

Nice suggestion, Julio :). I quite like the idea of learning what goes on in the EU-Parliament via blogging. This way things might become more direct, maybe more authentic and less official - I can imagine that a lot of people would appreciate this.

Hienoa nähdä, että suomalaisetkin poliitikot löytävät blogien luvatun maan. Toivottavasti näemme pian lisää meppien ja eduskuntalaisten ajatuksia verkossa. Pioneereja tarvitaan aina - muista suositella tiedotevälinettä myös kollegoillesi. TypePad-järjestelmä tulee myös suomenkielisenä luultavasti loppukesästä.

Tänään on suuri päivä, mutta enää äänestämisprosenttiin tuskin on mahdollista vaikuttaa. Nuoren näkökulmasta sanoisin, että EU-politiikkaa saisi ehkä mielenkiintoisemmaksi tuomalla siellä päätettäviä asioita enemmän esille. Tällä hetkellä kansan keskuudessa EU:sta mieleen tulevat asiat koskevat lähinnä direktiivejä ja munavoita. Ainoastaan kaikista kielteisimmät asiat tulevat esille Suomeen asti. Tämän kielteisyyden takia suomalaiset eivät katso Unionia omakseen eivätkä kiinnostu siitä. Esimerkiksi juuri bloggaaminen on hyvä keino tuoda esille EU-politiikan jokapäiväisiä ja ihmisiä koskevia asioita. Lienee hyvä jaotella kirjoituksesi kategorioihin niiden aiheiden perusteella (esim. EU:n asiat, muu politiikka ja Suomi?), jotta lukijan on helppo löytää tietoa siitä aiheesta, mikä häntä kiinnostaa. Blogit toimivat myös hyvänä palaute- ja keskustelukanavana.

Toivottavasti jaksat kirjoitella myös vastaisuudessa. :)
